Get Help With Rent

There are several places to go to for rent assistance in your area. Some may provide direct cash grants, or refer renters to government programs and local charities, and yet other agencies will offer options like the section 8 housing voucher program. Learn about several organizations and government programs below.

Rental Assistance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development or HUD provides rental assistance in 3 ways:
Privately owned subsidized housing – HUD helps apartment owners reeducated rents to low-income tenants

Public Housing – affordable apartments for low-income families, the elderly and persons with disabilities.

Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) – find your own place and use the voucher to pay for all or part of the rent.
